On January 1, 2023, Prof. Dr. Christoph Wünsch handed over the direction of the "studio für neue musik" to his two colleagues Prof. Andreas Mildner and Prof. Jürgen Ruck.

The "studio für neue musik" organizes about six concerts per year as well as workshops, lectures and master classes on contemporary music topics in conjunction with various partner institutions.

Prof. Wünsch took over the direction of the studio in 2001 together with his former colleague Prof. Ulrich Schultheiß, and after Schultheiß's call to another music academy, he continued to direct the studio on his own from 2003. Before that, the direction was in the hands of Prof. Dr. Klaus Hinrich Stahmer, and before that, Prof. Bertold Hummel.

The next studio concert will take place on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 19:30 in the Chamber Music Hall, Gebäude an der Residenz. Markus Bellheim will play 24 Préludes by Andras Hamary for piano (premiere). University members have free admission.
