We bid farewell to Mr. Klaus Eisenmann, who passed away on 21.10.2024 at the age of 84.
Klaus Eisenmann was a committed member of the University Council at the University of Music Würzburg for 10 years. He was educated at the University of Music and Theater in Mannheim, where he initially majored in piano. In the course of his academic career, he discovered his passion for conducting, which led him down an extraordinary artistic path.
His first position as a répétiteur with conducting duties was at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. From there, his path led him to Darmstadt as Kapellmeister before he worked for several years as first Kapellmeister at the Theater der Stadt Lübeck. His career reached another high point when he was appointed General Music Director in Pforzheim, a position he held with dedication and passion for 18 years.
In addition to his responsible work in Pforzheim, Mr. Eisenmann was also involved in teaching. He took on a teaching position in conducting at the University of Music in Mannheim, focusing in particular on opera conducting. During a period in which the chair at the university remained vacant, Mr. Eisenmann acted as acting professor and worked to maintain the high standard of musical education.
His skills as a conductor made him a sought-after musician, both in Germany and abroad. He conducted a large number of productions in Gdansk and Wroclaw and was a regular guest conductor of renowned orchestras in Germany.
We will keep Klaus Eisenmann in honorable memory.
