Prof. Dr. Alexis Kivi studied school music and mathematics in Berlin and taught these subjects at the Nordseegymnasium St. Peter-Ording after his traineeship. From 2009 to 2015, he was a research staff member for music education at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he received his PhD in 2015. After guest and substitute professorships in Koblenz, Berlin and Dresden, he was Professor of Music Didactics/Music Education at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz from 2021 to 2023.

In addition to interdisciplinary teaching models, his work focuses on school-based teaching didactics and international comparative music education.
