Uschi Hartberger has been teaching F.M. Alexander Technique at the University of Music Würzburg since the winter semester 2002.

F.M. Alexander Technique is a basic technique for singers and instrumentalists in addition to its general importance in health prevention and personality development. In her lessons, Uschi Hartberger deals with the conscious handling of one's own body in connection with the instrument or the voice in theory and practice on the instrument. She pays special attention to the individual needs, questions and concerns of the students.

Bodywork as self-awareness and as training with regard to later professional practice is an essential part of the music studies. This includes the following topics in particular:

  • the flow of movement for a free tone and free music making
  • recognizing, preventing or reducing bad posture on the instrument
  • supervision of questions from teaching students
  • preventing or avoiding posture-related pain
  • dissolving stage fright and other blockades
  • mental training and preparation for performances and auditions
  • elementary basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and their meaning and implementation when making music
  • imparting this knowledge to third parties
