Viviane Hammermüller was born in Leipzig and began studying mathematics and musicology at the TU Dresden after graduating from high school, but soon switched to teaching music with double bass as her main instrument (Würzburg, Helsinki). At the same time, she studied philosophy, sociology and political science, and also successfully completed her first state examination in ethics as an extension subject.

She was active in several choirs, ensembles and theater projects and was involved in various university political committees during her studies. For several years, she has worked as an expert in system and degree program accreditations both nationally and internationally and deals with issues of quality assurance and degree program development. She has also worked as a musical director in various theater productions (including Theater Ensemble Würzburg, St. Pauli Theater Hamburg and Naturtheaterfestival Beneckenstein) and taught music as a substitute teacher at a grammar school.

She won third prize in the Germany-wide university competition Musikpädagogik 2024 with the presentation of her thesis on knowledge and information management for music teachers, and first prize in the singer-songwriter contest in Würzburg 2023.

Since December 2024, she has been teaching digital media education in the teacher training programs at the University of Music Würzburg.
