Helge von Seelen

A musical upbringing at home sparked Helge von Seelen’s love of the piano at an early age.
His artistic career encompasses an extensive concert programme at home and abroad, both as a soloist and a chamber musician. His concert appearances have taken him to venues including the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and Duke’s Hall in London. His musical partners include members of renowned orchestras and ensembles, such as the Dresden Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Magdeburg Philharmonic, the Central German Chamber Philharmonic, the Würzburg Philharmonic and the London Philharmonia. He has also made radio recordings for Bayerischer Rundfunk and MDR, as well as releases on YouTube. He is regularly invited to festivals of new music.
The *Presse* wrote: ‘With an unusually exquisite and consistently realised musical sensibility, a strikingly well-developed emotional balance, and his delightfully unpretentious and attentive presence, he guided the enthusiastic audience through an irresistible and lavish programme’.
He received his musical training from 1993 to 2002 at the Würzburg University of Music and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. His talent as a pianist was nurtured by outstanding pianists and teachers such as Peter Hollfelder, Bernd Glemser, Hamish Milne, Alexander Satz and Christopher Elton.
He is a prize-winner at various national competitions and the recipient of the Richard Wagner Scholarship, the Winifred Christie Award and the Leverhulme Trust Scholarship.
