Verena Fischer

Verena Fischer is one of the most experienced transverse flutists of her generation. She started her artistic career after studying modern flute with Peter-Lukas Graf and Auréle Nicolet as a solo flutist in the "Junge Deutsche Philharmonie". Afterwards she got the same position in the "Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie".
In 1992 she began to study the transverse flute, attended courses with Barthold Kuijken, Konrad Hünteler and Wilbert Hazelzet.
Reinhard Goebel brought her to his "Musica Antiqua Köln" as a solo flutist in 1996, where she played concerts around the world as a soloist and chamber musician for 10 years.
Numerous CDs on the "Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft" with this ensemble bear witness to this.
After the end of "Musica Antiqua Köln" Verena Fischer founded her own ensemble "Concerto/Würzburg", focusing on the classical period. She has traveled to South Africa, South America, China, Canada, Russia, and many European countries for chamber concerts and master classes. In coproduction with Bayrischer Rundfunk, she recorded the twelve flute sonatas of Johan Helmich Roman together with Léon Berben and recorded a collection of six Quantz sonatas. In 2013, the recording of the Bach sonatas was released by the classical label Oehms-Classics, and in the same year "Das Musikalische Opfer" with Concerto Melante was released by Sony.
Verena Fischer is a regular guest with various ensembles such as Wiener Akademie, Freitagsakademie Bern, Concerto Melante, L'arte del mondo, Ensemble moderntimes_1800, Hofkapelle München.
