Martin Emmerich

Orchestral studies violin
Office hours: by arrangement

Martin Emmerich has been 1st concertmaster in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Coburg State Theatre for over twelve years. Now firmly rooted in the city, he has since presented himself to audiences in every conceivable formation.

He is usually seen in the orchestra of the Landestheater, where he is equally at home playing invisibly in the pit and in the light on stage. In order to strengthen the bond and communication between the musicians, he and his colleagues founded a chamber music series at the Landestheater a few years ago, which has complemented concert life in Coburg ever since.

His chamber music festival KLANGGRENZEN, founded in 2016, is very popular with concert audiences, as the unusual combinations of different art forms are a unique experience for Coburg every year. The education projects linked to his festival enrich Coburg's schools, where he works with around 1,000 Coburg schoolchildren every year.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Martin Emmerich likes to seek out unknown and rarely performed works in an attempt to unearth unjustly forgotten treasures. He has presented himself to Coburg audiences with works by Emanuel Moór, Volker David Kirchner, Nikolai Kapustin and many others.

Martin Emmerich is a welcome guest at various major opera houses and concert halls in Germany and has been a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra since 2022.
