This presentation explores the evolving role of technology in education, from historical teaching tools to modern digital learning environments. It examines the benefits and challenges of integrating technology, the pedagogical advantages of digital and blended learning, and strategies for effective implementation. 
The presentation will explore the role of online education tools in enhancing teaching and learning. 
Key topics will include synchronous and asynchronous learning, the use of low-latency technology, learning management systems (LMS), tracking student progress through data, and leveraging quizzes and other interactive tools. It will emphasize how online courses can complement traditional classroom experiences, alleviating fears surrounding technology while encouraging meaningful in-person interactions. 
Additionally, the discussion will highlight how these tools can promote collaboration and community-building among individuals and institutions. Case studies of teacher collaborations and student projects will be presented to demonstrate the practical applications and potential of online education to strengthen educational connections and outcomes.

Format
Online-Workshop 

In addition to the lecture and presentation, this session will include an interactive discussion with participants. A live demonstration of our LMS and online teaching practices will be provided, including short videos from our Distance Learning program. I will also attempt to create several guest accounts, allowing a limited number of participants (5-6) to explore the LMS firsthand. If possible, we may rotate access among participants or have a few volunteers share their screens while navigating the system.

Das Netzwerk 4.0 versteht sich als strategische Allianz. Darin engagieren sich 18 der 24 Musikhochschulen in Deutschland mit insgesamt rund 13.500 Studierenden, um die Potentiale der Digitalisierung für Lehre und Studium an Musikhochschulen gemeinsam zu erschließen. Gefördert wird das Netzwerk 4.0 als bundesweit mitgliederstärkstes Verbundprojekt im Programm „Hochschullehre durch Digitalisierung stärken“ der Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre.
