Benedikt Haag, born in 1987, received his first musical training in the Windsbacher Knabenchor. He then studied school music, church music (organ with Prof. Harald Feller and Peter Kofler) and choral conducting with Prof. Michael Gläser at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich.

He was a scholarship holder in the Conductors' Forum of the German Music Council in the support area of choir. As part of this sponsorship, he participated in courses with Hans-Christoph Rademann, Michael Gläser, Jos van Veldhoven, Philipp Ahmann and Jörg-Peter Weigle, working with the RIAS Kammerchor, the MDR Rundfunkchor and the Freiburger Barockorchester, among others.

Since 2013 he has been artistic director of the Munich Motet Choir and the Amadeus Choir Neuendettelsau. Benedikt Haag has a long-standing collaboration with the Munich Symphony Orchestra as well as the baroque orchestras Concerto München and La Banda. He also regularly takes on rehearsals for renowned conductors such as Ulf Schirmer, Kevin John Edusei and Alexander Shelley.

In the fall of 2020, the crossover project "Baroque in blue" initiated by Benedikt Haag was released on CD: based on motets by Johann Sebastian Bach, arrangements for choir and jazz ensemble were created and recorded by the Münchner Motettenchor in co-production with BR-KLASSIK. For the CD recording "Denn es will Abend werden" the Amadeus Choir Neuendettelsau and Benedikt Haag were nominated for the Opus Klassik 2021.

Benedikt Haag was appointed professor for choral conducting at the HfM Würzburg for the winter semester 2021/22.
