From May 30 to June 1, the 1st percussionist of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Gregor Moser, was a guest of Prof. Mark Lutz's percussion class.
He held a 2 1/2 day master class on the subject of orchestral studies and audition preparation.
He worked in detail with the students on compulsory pieces and orchestral passages from the audition repertoire on snare drum, xylophone and glockenspiel. He also showed tips and tricks for the correct use of the tambourine and cymbals, typical orchestral accompanying instruments.
The last day was all about audition training. First, Moser gave a talk on his approach to practical and mental preparation and finally an in-class audition was held with Gregor Moser and Prof. Mark Lutz on the jury.
