11-year-old Parzival Namsoongnein (PreCollege: piano, class Ulrike Goldbeck - violin, class Sinn Yang) will be taking part in a listening duel with renowned violinist Daniel Hope on March 2 at 8:15 pm in the ARD program "Klein gegen Groß". The aim is to determine the highest and lowest notes in short excerpts from pop songs.
At the request of the television station, Joachim Schneider, a theory teacher at the PreCollege, suggested Parzival, who is not only a very talented young pianist and violinist, but also has perfect pitch.
The recording of the popular family show took place in Berlin at the beginning of February. Parzival and his parents were looked after very kindly and generously over several days by the TV team's staff. The recordings were very interesting, but also exhausting for the 11-year-old, as numerous repetitions were often required for a few minutes of broadcasting.
Unfortunately, there was no grand piano in the broadcasting studio! So the originally planned interplay with Daniel Hope could not take place. But young and old still had a nice, exciting encounter. We'll find out how the listening duel turned out on March 2 in the evening!
