Hofstallstraße Building
The modern Hofstallstrasse Building lies with one side directly on the so-called Green Belt, a park which runs around the city of Würzburg, with another side on the popular Rosenbach Park near the State Wine Cellar. Across the street stands the main Lutheran Church St. Johannis, where, among other things, the Würzburg Bach Days concerts in cooperation with the University of Music take place. One wing of the building contains the Small and Great Halls, the latter of which is appreciated by musicians far beyond the region for its excellent acoustics. Every kind of group sounds excellent in this hall, from string quartets to symphony orchestras, from viola da gamba consorts to big bands. The brand new hall organ can be combined with every kind of ensemble, and a sound studio makes professional recordings possible, for example, for master class applications and competitions. In the main part of the building, there are modern, sound-proof and insulated teaching and practice rooms on four floors, all of which are provided with one or two grand pianos. A spacious, light-filled atrium cafeteria with comfortable seating and computer work spaces is available for conversation and breaks.
