The HfM Würzburg is one of the few German conservatories to have a permanent Baroque Orchestra with Historical Instruments (BaHI). This orchestra participates, among other things, in the festival "Tage der Alten Musik", in the annual baroque opera as well as in various orchestral projects.

Chamber music with various baroque instruments and singing is cultivated under the direction of internationally renowned professors and lecturers. Master classes with guest lecturers on topics such as improvisation and baroque singing are held regularly.

Individual instruction is enriched by seminars on historical performance practice and study excursions to instrument collections in Germany and abroad. Students participate in the Bavarian Baroque Orchestra Academy, earn international prizes as well as permanent positions in baroque orchestras.
