Accordion

Bachelor of Music artistic | artistic-pedagogical

Accordion can be studied at the HfM Würzburg in a bachelor's degree program with artistic or with artistic-pedagogical orientation. Both study programs are based on an individual curriculum for the students and thus do justice to the changing professional fields for graduates of the music academies.

Students at the HfM Würzburg can specifically increase their chances in professional life by focusing on individual areas. The wide range of chamber music courses also makes a significant contribution to this. In addition to the well-founded and artistically ambitious training in the artistic core subject of accordion, accents can be set from the beginning of the studies. This applies, for example, to basic pedagogical knowledge also within the framework of the artistic training or practice-related instructions for the self-management of the aspiring artist.

In addition to the solo repertoire, the training also includes chamber music and contemporary music ensembles. Regular internal auditions and concerts, mental training and informative events on musicians' health, professional environment, etc. round off the range of studies. Regular master classes given by prominent musicians expand the educational offerings.

The choice of modules in the freely plannable segment, which is oriented towards the student's own wishes and inclinations, opens up opportunities for the student at the HfM Würzburg to start his or her career as a soloist. This also facilitates the foundation and participation in a chamber music ensemble, the activity as a music teacher and last but not least as a freelance musician with a personal mixture of the possibilities mentioned here.

---

In addition to individual instruction in the core subject and in chamber music lessons, participation in the Ensemble for New Music (enm) is also part of the program.

Lecturers and professors from other music academies, such as the Sibelius Academy Helsinki, Musikene San Sebastian, University of Toronto, Gnessin Institute Moscow, etc. give concerts, lectures and teach during the annual Days of the Accordion in Würzburg.

Joint excursions with the entire accordion class to festivals and competitions as well as exchange projects with accordion and composition classes such as University of Calgary / Canada or Tokyo College of Music / Japan round off the study program.
